Session Four - Photo Collection "Going Green" Activity

Teaching and Learning With Mobile Devices

Session Four

"Going Green" Activity

In this activity, you will create your own photo collection. Using your phone’s camera, record examples for how your students, school or neighborhood are making efforts to be “green,” whether by lessening waste, saving energy, or recycling. Take a few photos and share your photostory with the group using FotoBabble, StoryKit, or PicCollage.

Please include a learning reflection (your experience in using the tool) and suggested potential classroom activities.

Also you can create a "quick link" to your product by typing in the following:

    <a href="http://wvlearns.k12.wv.us/index.asp?logout=1">WV Learns</a>

The first highlighted area is the URL address for your fotobabble.  The second is the name you want to display.

Session Three - Poll Everywhere Activity

Teaching and Learning With Mobile Devices

Session Three

Poll Everywhere Activity

In this activity you will create your own poll in Poll Everywhere and share it with your colleagues on the blog. Sometimes it is easiest to learn about new technology tools by just playing around with them, so the poll you create can be just for fun (e.g., What is your favorite food? or, During which season were you born?) or it can be used to gather data for some research.
Make sure to take the polls posted by your colleagues as well so they can get the results and you can see what it is like to participate in a poll from the student perspective.
Also you can create a "quick link" to your poll by typing in the following:
    <a href="http://wvlearns.k12.wv.us/index.asp?logout=1">WV Learns</a>

The first highlighted area is the URL address for your poll.  The second is the name you want to display.

Session One - Cell Phone Student Use Survey

Teaching and Learning With Mobile Devices
Session One

Throughout the workshop as you experiment with your cell phone or mobile device and web-based tools, you will share your findings and your creations on our course blog.  For Session One, you are asked to share your survey results.  If you conducted an online survey, please share the link.  If you conducted a survey using paper or show of hands, please include a description of your findings.

You are also expected to provide an analysis and reflection on the data.  What surprised you in your survey results?  What do the results suggest about potential use of cell phones in the classroom?

Please share your work as a comment to this post.
